An Evening for Art Teachers Coming to the AMA

The Event for Art Educators is March 22

Teachers Can Enjoy a Relaxing Evening of Creativity and Camaraderie at the Albany Museum of Art

In the style of the Albany Museum of Art’s popular Corks & Canvases Painting Parties, art educators are invited to a relaxing evening of art and camaraderie at the Albany Museum of Art. An Evening for Art Teachers is 5:30-7:30 pm on Friday, March 22 at the AMA.

“To be an art educator, you first have to love art,” AMA Director of Education and Public Programming Annie Vanoteghem said. “The rigors of school planning and teaching, however, can take some of the fun out of it. An educator may not have many chances to just hang out with other art teachers in a social environment to talk about art and create. We thought that a special edition of Corks & Canvases would allow them to do that.”

During the event in the AMA Classroom, teachers can enjoy a glass of wine and tasty bites from the Charcuterie boards while they engage in conversation, listen to relaxing background music, and recreate a famous artwork.

“It will be a wonderful way to end a school week,” Vanoteghem said. “Plus, no one will have to be up early the next morning for classes!”

An Evening for Art Teachers is open to educators who teach at all levels, from kindergarten to college.

The registration fee is $20. The registration link may be found HERE. The AMA is located at 311 Meadowlark Drive.

“The registration fee covers all the art materials, including the canvas,” Vanoteghem said. “We want to make sure this special evening for our favorite teachers is not only fun and relaxing but affordable. It’s an opportunity to spend time with other art teachers outside the school setting and recharge your creativity.”
