Scraps to Sculpture Workshop
The Albany Museum of Art Classroom will be open 2-5 pm on Saturdays April 6 and 13 for kids and families to create sculpture art from items they find in nature and around the house. The only purchased items should be fasteners and glue. Families can bring items from home, and the AMA will have some found items available. The Artesian Alliance will have facilitators on hand during the workshops. The sculptures by K-12th grade students can be entered by April 19 in the Artesian Alliance’s Scraps to Sculptures competition at its Party for the Planet event on April 20. Students with winning works in the primary, elementary, and middle/high school categories will be awarded prizes from the Artesian Alliance and the Albany Museum of Art.
