ABY Senior Night Will Celebrate the Class of 2025
Friday | Jan 24 | 6-8:30 PM
As Albany area high school seniors approach their final months in high school, the Albany Museum of Art Teen Art Board has planned a special art-inspired evening event for them. ABY Senior Night: Manifest Your Future on Friday, Jan 24, will be filled with reflection, expression, and anticipation.
“Senior Night with the Teen Art Board will be a memorable event, and I’m so excited for it,” TAB President Alyia Nurbhai, a junior at Deerfield-Windsor School, said. “The Class of 2025 can enjoy getting creative with vision boards, decorating grad caps, receiving career advice, and spending a fun evening together as graduation approaches.”
The event, backed by a musical soundtrack curated by the Teen Art Board (TAB), will be from 6 to 8:30 pm at the Albany Museum of Art, 311 Meadowlark Drive.
All high school seniors are welcome to attend. The cost is $10 per person to cover materials and food. An RSVP link can be found HERE.
“Senior year is a transitional time in a teenager’s life,” AMA Director of Education and Public Programming Annie Vanoteghem said. “It’s a period in which one foot is rooted in more than a dozen years of the familiar while the other is stepping toward an unexplored path into the future. ABY Senior Night will be a creative and inspiring event that will encourage seniors to reflect on their past, present, and dreams for the future through the artistic process of vision board creation.”
Guided by the Teen Art Board, participants can express their goals, hopes, and ambitions through images, words, and artistic materials encompassing their personal journeys and future aspirations.
“As a 2025 senior and a member of TAB, I am excited to be a part of this event,” TAB Secretary Cora James, a Deerfield-Windsor School senior, said. “I’m excited about all of the opportunities this event will provide, whether I am meeting other local seniors or talking to the mentors there. What I mean by mentors, is there will be local adults attending with a plethora of experience and different jobs there to talk with us! I love that there will be a variety of people who are interested and invested, and willing to chat, hang out, and inspire us at this event.”
High school seniors can fuel up on pizza, mocktails, candy, and snacks to a musical playlist of favorite hits. “A dance-off or TikTok creation may break out for students to create memories they’ll savor,” Vanoteghem said. “We’ll also have Chill Zones with comfy seating where the participants can snap photos, chat, and catch up with each other.”
At the event, she said, participants can expect:
- Vision Boards 2.0 customized with trendy stickers, aesthetic templates, and inspiration from favorite social media trends;
- A Glow-Up Goals Station where participants can write and seal letters to their future selves. Each letter will be mailed a year later to the student who wrote it;
- A Dream Wall where the senior can snap an instant photo and add it to an interactive “What’s Next?” wall to share goals;
- Mentorship opportunities where seniors can engage with Teen Art Board members and community mentors who will share advice, tips, and encouragement on what’s next.
“It’s going to be a night of celebration of accomplishments and inspiration for future achievements,” Vanoteghem said. “I can’t think of a better way for a high school senior to start that last leg to graduation day.”
