In April 2020, the Albany Museum of Art asked residence of Southwest Georgia who were sheltering at home because of COVID to capture images of what they could see from their home.
Participants were allowed to use any format they wanted, and their images were emailed to the AMA for placement on the Museum’s Facebook page. Visitors voted for their favorites. The first-place winner received a complimentary AMA membership, and all three top winners received an AMA swag bag.

Leesa Thompson’s photograph of a bird landing on a feeder won first place in the Art in Residence art contest conducted in April 2020 by the Albany Museum of Art.

Allen Vanhook won second place with his photograph Taking It by the Reins.

Third Place
Madye Carter won third place for heruntitled fluid painting.

The Albany Museum of Art’s first online art contest attracted eighteen entries from Southwest Georgia.
