The Albany Museum of Art’s Inaugural Juried Southwest Georgia Student Art Exhibition celebrates young artists and provides a unique platform to display their talent in a professional setting. This exhibition nurtures student creativity and emphasizes the value of youthful perspectives through art.

By showcasing their thoughtful and powerful work, the AMA underscores its commitment to inspiring and empowering the next generation of creators. The exhibition is planned to be an annual event that will open on the date of the AMA’s annual fall art celebration, The Heart of Albany Festival.

The Student Art Exhibition is on view in the West Gallery through Jan 25, 2025.

  • Second Place: Marley Davis, Dougherty High School ATC dual enrolled, Everything but the Wine

2D ABSTRACT & NON-TECHNICAL ART

  • Honorable Mention: Cora James, Byne Christian Academy, Dunce.

PHOTOGRAPHY/DIGITAL ART

  • First Place: Vanessa Cid, school not listed, Diversion Days;
  • Second Place: Ja’Leah Parker, Monroe High School, Echoes of Identity;
  • Honorable Mention: Eythan Sanders, Dougherty High School and Albany Tech dual enrolled, Spiderman Saves the Day.

2D TECHNICAL ART

  • First Place: Zamira Austin, Dougherty High School and Albany Tech dual enrolled, Chaos;
  • Second Place: Emily Ramirez, Monroe High School, Booted Kitty;
  • Honorable Mention: Rashaun Hooks, Monroe High school, The Valley.

PEOPLE’S CHOICE WINNER

The People’s Choice winner was voted upon by those who attended The Heart of Albany Festival.
