Capture Artistic Form at AMA Figure Drawing Class

Artist and ASU Professor Michael Mallard Will Teach the Saturday, April 26, Workshop 

Get your figure drawing in good form at the Albany Museum of Art. Artist and Albany State University educator Michael Mallard will teach an immersive figure-drawing workshop from 10 am to 1 pm on Saturday, April 26, in the AMA Classroom,

“Whether you’re a seasoned artist or just starting, this workshop is designed for all skill levels,” AMA Director of Education and Public Programming Annie Vanoteghem said. “You will discover the beauty of capturing the human form with expert guidance from a professional artist and teacher in the supportive environment of the Albany Museum of Art.”

Paper and materials will be provided for the class. “All a person needs to bring is creativity,” Vanoteghem said. “And participants are free to bring snacks to keep their energy up as they delve into this captivating art form.”

Mallard is an associate professor of visual arts (painting, design, arts appreciation) at ASU College of Arts and Sciences and was the first artist-in-residence at the Albany Museum of Art in 2021. He holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Illinois and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Georgia.

The workshop is $30 per person, but Albany Museum of Art donors enjoy a special rate of $30. The online registration link is HERE.
