Spring Fling Art Camp
April 1-5, 2024 | 9 AM-4 PM | Grades K-7th
Winter is still with us, but spring will arrive before you know it. If you are going to be in town during spring break, make plans now so that your child can have a week full of art adventures. Spring Fling Art Camp at the Albany Museum of Art is April 1-5, and online registration is open.
“You can unleash your child’s artistic potential with a mix of solo and group projects as they explore various media and techniques,” AMA Director of Education and Public Programming Annie Vanoteghem said. “But we won’t be stuck inside all day. We’ll also have outdoor games and playtime so the kiddos can enjoy the beautiful spring weather while also fostering creativity and camaraderie.”
The camp is for kids in kindergarten through 7th grade. Campers will be placed in different age groups, and all activities will be age-appropriate. Spring Fling Art Camp is 9 am-4 pm daily, and half-day options of 9 am-noon and 1-4 pm are available.
“Even though students will be out of school, parents may still be working on spring break week,” Vanoteghem said. “We offer free early drop-off at 8 am and free late pick-up at 5 pm each day of camp.”
In addition to art time and outdoor games and activities, campers will enjoy AMAzing Space, a dedicated imaginative play and exploration area at the AMA where kids can let their creativity run wild.
There also will be movies and dances. “The kids can kick back and relax with some cinematic entertainment,” Vanoteghem said. “They also can work off some of their energy and get in some exercise during our lively dance parties, which add a touch of excitement to the camp experience.”
The registration fee for full-day camp is $230 ($200 for AMA donors). Half-day options are $200 ($170 for AMA donors). Parents also can apply for scholarships for campers. Campers can bring a brown bag lunch, or lunch ($10 per day) can be purchased during registration. Everyone enjoys the free pizza party lunch on Friday, April 5.

“Spring Fling Art Camp promises to be a memorable and enriching experience for your child, one where your camper builds creativity and lifelong friendships each day,” Vanoteghem said.
